Physical distancing is the key strategy to reducing further spread of COVID-19 infections. To help patients in this effort, many insurance plans are encouraging telemedicine visits by waiving the cost-sharing component of telemedicine visits for their members, which generally means waiving the co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurances. Lumos Dermatology has compiled a table of insurance companies in which we participate that have such a waiver policy in place. These waivers are valid for telemedicine visits even if the problem to be addressed in the visit does not involve a COVID-19 diagnosis. If your employer uses one of these insurance company's networks with a self-insured plan, please forward the appropriate reference link to your employer's HR department to confirm that your plan is opting in to follow this cost-sharing waiver policy.
